Hi! I read your post about not consuming bearblog and I get it. I am a tech person, but I don't really enjoy reading about code in my free time, it's just when I'm working on something, so I also skip all those posts. I like any kind of arts and that's what I look for in blogs. I follow only some blogs on with RSS, but I do go to the discovery page of bear to see if I can find good blogs. Hope you find some blogs you can enjoy too!

Woah! 23 stamps on their blog? They’re so cool! (I like your stamps) (also the image on your main page looks to be broken, although maybe that’s just a mobile thing)

Hello! I just saw your post about CS majors here. I'm not a CS major per se, though some of my projects are related to programming and I like computer stuff like Linux and so on, but I'm a biologist (biogeography and systematics) by profession. You're right that many people in BearBlog and the indie web tend to be tech persons, maybe because the initial configuration can be a little difficult for some people, but I'm confident that this will change soon. Keep on, you've gained a new subscriber! 👍️

Hi, I am not a bear and I AM a CS major but my partner is a non-CS who’s considering their presence on the indieweb. Shoutout to you non-CS folks who brave the indieweb. It is definitely a hostile space for folks who are not very techy, but there are different platforms such as Bear that make it (hopefully) a little easier to be on the Indie web. I hope you continue and persist so you can find like-minded folks.

Huzzah! I'm also not a computer scientist! (And need to put a guestbook up on my own blog.)

i feel the same way being nestled amongst tech pros here on bear... on one hand it has inspired me to stop playing victim to my computer and actually learn something for once... but on the other hand i feel so in over my head and i can't help but wonder how they all /do it/? computer science is cool but im an artist at heart and i use bear blog as a place to share my vulnerabilities and creative projects;; i would reccomend using an rss reader and just keeping up with the blogs you enjoy - occasionally skimming the discover page for new creatives that you find interesting. have a fun day biggrin

I just read your post about the CS majors, I totally agree! I feel like my interests and pursuits couldn't be further than most people on this platform. I mostly write about the arts, fashion, and architecture. While I do like the feeling that I'm filling a certain niche, rounding out the site a bit more, I do feel like an island sometimes. On the other hand, I love reading posts about things I have no clue about, it helps me learn more about things I wouldn't otherwise! I wouldn't be lying thought if I said all code is just gibberish to me.... - a lonely architecture major

I'm a tech guy but I'm not a developer, so a lot of the stuff on Bear Blog and other indieweb blog platforms is either over my head or irrelevant to my interests. You're not alone. I'm really into music and so far there aren't a lot of music blogs around here, especially not the types of music I like.

I feel your pain. Ofc I don't mind CS majors being in these spaces because of course they are, it's thanks to them we have these platforms and know about them, but dang, I wish more outsiders like us used em as well :'wink - A disgruntled environmental science major bouncey

In response to your post I am not a CS major. I'm a film major and aspiringwwriter from Brazil and I have no interest in coding anything at all!
